A Brand New *Want To*

People reject Christ for various reasons.

They don*t want to read the Bible. They don*t want to faithfully attend church. They don*t want to give their lives to Christ. They don*t want to serve others. They don*t want to obey the Lord. They don*t want to give up their sins. They don*t want to change. They don*t want God to change them.

They don*t realize that the best way to get what they want is to receive Christ. When they receive Him He changes their don*t want to into do want to.

When we Christians want what God wants we always get what we want. And we get better stuff than unbelievers. No wonder we Christians are happier than unbelievers.

Christians and unbelievers both have a gap between their want to and their able to. The gap is a whole lot smaller for Christians because when God gives them a new want to He also gives them a new able to. Christians will be much better able to satisfy both their want to and their able to than unbelievers.

I can always do whatever I want if I want to do the same things God wants me to do.

Doing what I want will always be difficult and it will always get a horrible result when I want to do what something that the Lord does not want me to do.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Romans 5:17: For if by one man*s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

1 John 5:14: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Luke 22:42b: . . . nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

The issue is a simple one: Know that God*s will is best and in fact it is perfect.

Romans 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Have we been rejecting God*s want to?
